Certified Breastfeeding Specialists (CBS) and IBCLC's

A Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) is a health professional who has completed additional training showing expertise in the normal course of breastfeeding. An IBCLC is a health professional specializing in management of breastfeeding who have received advanced training and clinical experience and have passed an international board exam.

Occupational Therapy

An occupational therapist (OTR/L) has completed a masters or doctoral program in occupational therapy and passed a licensing examination. They perform evaluations, treat patients and supervise aides as well as occupational therapist assistants. A certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) is a medical professional who has completed an associates degree in occupational therapy and passed a licensing examination. They treat patients within the plan that the occupational therapist establishes.

Physical Therapy

A physical therapist (PT) professional who has completed a masters or doctoral program in physical therapy and passed a licensing examination. They perform evaluations, treat patients and supervise aides and physical therapist assistants. A physical therapy assistant (PTA) is a professional who is educated and licensed in clinical practice who provides care under the direction and supervision of a license physical therapist.

Speech Therapy

A Speech Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP) is a professional who has completed a masters or doctoral program in speech therapy and passed a licensing examination. They assess and treat people who have speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. They also treat clients who have problems swallowing. A Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is a professional that supports following academic coursework, fieldwork, and on-the-job training, perform tasks prescribed, directed, and supervised.
