Empire Therapy - Helping You Achieve Your Goals

Adult Occupational Therapy (OT)

Adult Occupational Therapy helps people do everyday tasks after an illness, injury, or surgery. Empire’s Occupational Therapists help assist with mental health, behavior management, incontinence, chronic pain, anxiety, and emotional regulation.

Incorporating Bodywork for Healing:

  • Primitive Reflex Integration: Retained primitive reflexes can impact sleep, concentration, vision, and movement. Specialized therapeutic exercises can help integrate these reflexes, improving coordination, vision, and fine motor skills to make daily tasks easier.
  • Fascia Work: Fascia is a special type of tissue in your body that looks like a web or stretchy sheet. It helps your muscles, organs, and bones stay in place and work together correctly. Tight fascia can limit movement. Special techniques can help relax the fascia, making it easier to do everyday activities.

Common Diagnoses Treated:

  • Concussion/Brain injury
  • Dizziness
  • Anxiety
  • Chronic headaches
  • Incontinence
  • Vision problems
  • Stroke
  • Chronic pain

Adult Physical Therapy - (PT)

Adult Physical Therapy helps people move better, feel stronger, and reduce pain after an injury, illness, or surgery. Physical therapists focus on improving movement, flexibility, strength, and overall function.

Incorporating Bodywork for Healing:

  • Primitive Reflex Integration: Retained primitive reflexes, especially after a brain injury, such as a concussion, can cause balance issues or make walking hard. Specialized therapy techniques can help integrate these reflexes to improve these movements.
  • Spinal Alignment and Neural Mobilization: If the spine is out of place, it can cause pain and weakness. Empire’s physical therapists use unique methods to realign the spine, helping to reduce pain and improve movement.
  • Fascia Work: Fascia is a special type of tissue in your body that looks like a web or stretchy sheet. It helps your muscles, organs, and bones stay in place and work together correctly. Tight fascia can cause pain and stiffness. Empire uses techniques that help loosen this tightness, improving movement and flexibility.

Common Diagnoses Treated:

  • Concussion/Brain injury
  • Car accidents
  • Whiplash
  • Dizziness
  • Stroke recovery
  • Chronic pain

Adult Speech Therapy (ST)

Adult Speech Therapy helps people who have trouble speaking or swallowing due to neurological conditions, developmental issues, or age. Speech therapists help with problems such as speaking, understanding language, thinking skills, using the voice, and swallowing safely.

Incorporating Bodywork for Healing:

  • Primitive Reflex Integration: Retained primitive reflexes may make speaking or swallowing difficult. Specialized therapy techniques can help integrate these reflexes so that the brain can work better, helping with muscle control and speech.
  • Fascia Work: Fascia is a special type of tissue in your body that looks like a web or stretchy sheet. It helps your muscles, organs, and bones stay in place and work together correctly. If the fascia gets tight, it can make speech or swallowing harder. Techniques that help relax the fascia can improve movement and speech.

Common Diagnoses Treated:

  • Concussion/Brain injury
  • Cancer (speech and swallowing problems)
  • Stroke (language and swallowing problems)
  • Parkinson's Disease (speech and swallowing issues)
  • Dementia (language problems)
  • Multiple Sclerosis (speech and swallowing issues)
