Welcome to Empire Therapy - PEDIATRIC THERAPY SERVICES

Pediatric Occupational Therapy (OT)

Pediatric Occupational Therapy helps children with tasks like getting dressed, schoolwork, and play. Therapists work on improving skills like fine motor skills, coordination, and focusing.

Incorporating Bodywork for Healing:

  • Primitive Reflex Integration: Retained primitive reflexes make it hard for children to focus, eat, or play. Specialized therapeutic techniques can integrate these reflexes, increasing children’s focus, concentration, behavior management, and feeding, in addition to helping children and their parents enjoy every day,
  • Fascia Work: Fascia is a unique tissue in your body that looks like a web or stretchy sheet. It helps your muscles, organs, and bones stay in place and work together correctly. Tight fascia in the hands, neck, or wrists can make it hard for children to move well. Special techniques help make movement smoother and improve motor skills.

Common Diagnoses Treated:

  • Emotional regulation
  • Delayed milestones (rolling, sitting, crawling, walking)
  • Concussion/Brain injury
  • Torticollis (neck imbalance)
  • Sensory Processing Disorder
  • Coordination problems
  • Dyslexia/Dyscalculia
  • ADHD
  • Incontinence
  • Vision problems

Pediatric Physical Therapy (PT)

Pediatric Physical Therapy helps children with physical challenges due to injury, disabilities, or other conditions. Therapists help children meet important milestones like walking, sitting, or crawling.

Incorporating Bodywork for Healing:

  • Primitive Reflex Integration: Retained primitive reflexes make it harder for children to move well. Specialized therapeutic techniques can help integrate these reflexes and help children move better.
  • Spinal Alignment and Neural Mobilization: If a child’s spine is not in the right place, it can slow their development. Techniques to straighten the spine can help them move better.
  • Fascia Work: Fascia is a special type of tissue in your body that looks like a web or stretchy sheet. It helps your muscles, organs, and bones stay in place and work together correctly. If the fascia is tight around the muscles, it can make moving harder. Special techniques can loosen the fascia to improve movement and improve motor skills.

Common Diagnoses Treated:

  • Delayed milestones (rolling, sitting, crawling, walking)
  • Concussion/Brain injury
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Coordination problems
  • Torticollis (neck imbalance)
  • Muscular Dystrophy
  • Plagiocephaly (flat head)

Pediatric Speech Therapy (ST)

Pediatric Physical Therapy helps children with physical challenges due to injury, disabilities, or other conditions. Therapists help children meet important milestones like walking, sitting, or crawling.

Pediatric Speech Therapy helps children with problems speaking, understanding language, eating, and swallowing. Empire’s therapists are skilled at rehabilitation regarding speech problems, language delays, stuttering, social awareness, and feeding/swallowing difficulties.

Incorporating Bodywork for Healing:

  • Primitive Reflex Integration: Retained primitive reflexes can make it difficult for children to speak or eat correctly. Specialized therapy techniques can help integrate these reflexes, improving coordination, speech, and swallowing.
  • Fascia Work: Fascia is a special type of tissue in your body that looks like a web or stretchy sheet. It helps your muscles, organs, and bones stay in place and work together correctly. If it gets tight, it can affect speech or swallowing. Techniques that relax the fascia can help improve movement and speech.
